Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

Dear authors, it was the pleasure to read your manuscript. I will suggest you a few minor corrections:

1) Table 3. Explain the name of this column "Sig." or write "p-value".

2) Be more precise when writing references (for example:

  • Ref 14. - Maybe: ERJ Open Res. 2020 Sep 21;6(3):00208-2020.
  • Ref 20. - maybe:  2021 Mar;33:100789. doi: 10.1016/j.eclinm.2021.100789.
  • Ref 27. PLoS One. 2021 Aug 3;16(8):e0255659.
  • Ref 34.  Eur Respir J. 2020 Aug 13;56(2):2002108.
  • please, check all the references again).

Author Response

Thank you for your comments.

  1. "sig" has now been changed to p-value as recommended.
  2. References have been updated as per comments.

Also please note we have added a final paragraph at line 286 as we thought it is important to mention future recommendations to patients to help them reduce future admission. This may be included at the editors discretion, thank you.

Reviewer 2 Report

This a good retrospective chart review to assess COPD admissions in pre COVID and post COVID periods. Total number of admissions were 57.2% which was significantly lower in lock down period compared to date matched pre COVID control period. Admission rates were higher in post lock down period. length of stay was shorter in COVID period. No difference in mortality and morbidity noted. study limitations were mentioned appropriately.
