Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

1 the authors should state the criteria on selecting the sample size

2 the authors should state in the methodology section how they detect conc of vit B12

3 have the authors detect conc of homocysteine and folate?

Was there any correlation between conc of homocystein

And MTHFR genotype

Reviewer 2 Report

In the methods, the authors did not specify the type of epilepsy they investigated. Please add this information. Indeed, in the results, it would be interesting to know whether there are some differences between focal and generalized epilepsies. Moreover, the type of antiepileptic drugs included in the analysis is not reported. This latter information should be added, including the possible influence of MTHFR polymorphism on different drugs.

In the text, the acronym AED (antiepileptic drug) should be replaced by ASM (anti-seizure medication), because the former is not in use anymore.
