Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

The authors have written a detailed review article describing the various management options for primary vertebral tumors. This is a well thought-of topic, and the manuscript has been written up fairly well. The literature review is pretty extensive.

I have some suggestions to make:

1) The title might read better if changed to : 'Vertebral primary bone lesions- review of management options'

2) A table highlighting a comprehensive list of benign and malignant bony tumors (and perhaps their salient radiological features) should be provided

3) Since this is a detailed review article, I would recommend inserting a lot more figures to add value to the extensive write-up.

The authors could especially add figures that demonstrate some of the management options (these could be pre-intervention and post-intervention images from other publications on the topic). The authors will need to take appropriate permissions from other journals for re-using published figures.

Reviewer 2 Report

The topic of the article is very interesting and there is importance for everyday clinical practice to have summarized therapeutic options for this pathologies. English should be improved, for example in summary (3 sentences connected with “-“) and in other parts of the text. Literature list contains many articles. It should be more concise and with more recently published article. In paragraph “decompression and stabilization” you should consider discussing the role of bone morphogenetic proteins.

Round 2

Reviewer 2 Report

The authors satisfactory replied to my comments. However, no changes are marked with color or track changes. I did my best to compare what was changed. Literature list should be reduced in any case. English is somewhat improved.
