Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

In my opinion, the article should be extended to include the economic thread. It would be valuable to find out how much is costs in Indonesia to obtain electricity from various sources.

Reviewer 2 Report

The authors have done a great job reviewing the renewable energy potential in Indonesia. They have shown such dedication when analysing the impact of renewable energy technologies in terms of area and demand coverage. This analysis has provided answers to the authors' research question that was set in the Introduction.

The authors have addressed three knowledge gaps and adequately proposed  research and policy recommendations.

Consider using Journal's template to prepare the manuscript.

Reviewer 3 Report

This manuscript reviews contemporary literature on the potential of nine RET(Renewable Energy Technologies)in Indonesia and analyses their impact in terms of area and demand coverage and their contribution to 100% renewable power systems by 2050. The work also provides research and policy recommendations to promote RET in Indonesia. The topic is interesting and worthy of investigation. The manuscript is well organized and well written. The following are some minor issues for the authors’ consideration:

  1. Section 3.4, Page 10: What does the lock-in effect refer to? It would be better to explain it concisely.
  2. The texts in Figure 2 can be adjusted to indicate Solar, Wind & Others more clearly.
  3. The resolution of Figure 4 can be improved.
  4. The format of Table 3 is not consistent with the others.
