The Response of Erica arborea L. Tree Growth to Climate Variability at the Afro-alpine Tropical Highlands of North Ethiopia
Round 1
Reviewer 1 Report
The stress on the restrictions and the need for more climate data and research is adequate. However, the small sample size and the restricted available climate data still make the results quite questionable.
Author Response
We would like to thank the reviewer for the feedback, which has strengthened the manuscript.
As suggested by the reviewer, we have stressed the need for more research on tree growth-climate interactions in the tropic alpine environment.
Reviewer 2 Report
My previous comments were responded satisfactorily.
There are some very minor new comments:
1) Please adjust numbers of figures after deleted Fig.3
2) In the figure 6, in the original version location of panels was top-bottom but figure caption described them as left-right; in current version it is vice versa. Please adjust panels location OR caption so they match each other. Or you may use marks (a) and (b) on panels AND in caption, which will be valid in any case.
3) Add proper citation for Körner (page 16). I recommend Körner C. (2016) Plant adaptation to cold climates. F1000Research 5 (F1000 Faculty Rev): 2769. https://doi.org/10.12688/f1000 research.9107.1
