Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

In the reviewed manuscript, the authors presented research on biomaterial from three tree species growing locally in Southeast Asia and Australia, the aim of which is to determine their potential application in the production of bioenergy. The authors provide data that was in part previously unavailable. The given conclusions are supported by the results and the work tends to provide an advance towards the current knowledge.

In my opinion the authors should addres the following issues:

  • in addition to the description given, a figure showing the scheme of the apparatus used is necessary,
  • it is necessary to determine the density of samples with higher accuracy,
  • it would be advisable to extend the research work to include more species with a similar potential use,
  • some obvious information should be removed from the text (e.g. formula for cylinder volume).

Some minor remarks are given as comments to the attached manuscript.

Author Response

To dear editors: 1. I have gone through most of the comments made by the Reviewers and revised the manuscript as per the comments.  2. I have used the orange ink to highlight the changes as per the comments. Change the colour to black before uploading 3. Please, read through the manuscript and make any English corrections where necessary. I would very much appreciate that. 4. In the Introduction, I have added 3 new materials from 3 literatures cited. The 3 authors are referenced. You will note the number in the content and reference section has increased by three. 5. A reviewer commented on the 2x Figures I used in the manuscript to improve the sizes. The requirement is 600 dpi. I have not tried to reduce the sizes to 600 dpi. I would appreciate it if the editors could help me reduce the size. 6. Please, help me upload the manuscript into the system.
