This is an important work, especially for a large country like China - plenty of investigated sites add to the importance of the work. However, I would recommend involving a bit more biological aspect and information on the processes involved in CH4 processing in soils. This aspect is simply missing from the discussion part at least to try to back up/explain the results, and in my opinion it would add to the overall impression on the work.
