Thank you for your work combining ground and aerial LiDAR detection of individual tree sizes and distributions.  I found your paper interesting but lacking in species details relating to:

1.  Ground Plot Characteristics

2. The development and use of the kNN process to reclassify stem segments.

3. How the Seed+ITS processes differ from their standard ITS processes.

These issues should be addressed on the basis that:

1. Somebody who wished to replicate your work could reasonably do so either in the same forest types or different forest types.

2.  To make easier to compare your results with results with other studies of a similar kind.

I think if you can address these issues then you will ultimately produce a paper worthy of publication.

I really enjoyed the paper and you did a great job. Nevertheless I have found a couple of minor flaw that must be solved concerning introduction (the real state of the art of the topic), the case studies that do not provide the readers the full picture of your paper and conclusions that simplify too much pros and cons of your job (information on the attached pdf).

Please carefully check the text about formatting, missing spaces, capital letters, etc.. I have found several and some of them are highlighted in the attached pdf.
