The authors present a study on safety of hydrogen fueling stations. The work is generally interesting, but the manuscript requires a lot of improvement. The language is unclear/imprecise. As a consequence, the reader often does not what the authors want to say or things are simply expressed wrong. It is therefore hard to actually read the manuscript. The manuscript therefore requires a lot of improvement before it might be published. Some issues to be addressed are – among others:

  1. The term „hydrogenation“ describes a chemical reaction in which an unsaturated molecule reacts with hydrogen. Using it for fueling a car with hydrogen is incorrect use of the term.
  2. Hydrogen is not “a high-efficiency energy”. The wording itself does not make sense.
  3. There is a difference between “safety” and “security”.
  4. Line 46 to 47: “the selection… is very cautious”. I guess I know what you want to say, but it should be expressed in correct and meaningful English.
  5. Line 47f: What have batteries to do with this topic?
  6. What is the unit of specific gravity?
  7. What kind of specific gravity is “13.44.0”?
  8. What does this mean? (“The safety measure for the use of hydrogen energy is 0.0695.”)
  9. Please specify what you mean with “1206,000 hydrogenation data”.
  10. What does Figure 4 really tell us?
  11. Were the data in the test set independent of the traning set or were they just different, but statistically depended data?
  12. One could really make figures look a little more like in a scientific paper.
  13. What do we really learn from the findings reported? The authors present some modelling results, but what conclusion can be drawn?

The manuscript has improved to some degree, but is still too weak for publication. Just some comments on the authors reply (there are still further issues that would need to be addressed):

  1. If the reviewer points out that there is a difference between „safety“ and „security“ it is not sufficient to just reply „Yes, there is a difference“. Please correct the incorrect wording in the manuscript.
  2. Regarding my last point #4: You might have reworded the sentence, but the new version still does not really make sense.
  3. What is the unit of specific gravity? I guess it is not dimensionless (and if it is, please define it properly).
  4. What is this supposed to mean: “When the specific gravity of air is 3.4~4.0(Air=1), the

specific gravity of gasoline vapor is 1, and hydrogen is only.” This does not make any sense.

  1. Regarding my last point #8: You might have reworded the sentence, but the new version still does not really make sense.
  2. The description of Figure 4 ist still barely understandable.
  3. The language quality is still on an unacceptable low level. Please get the manuscript properly proofread.
