Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

Thank you for the opportunity of revising this paper. The study aimed to merely list OHS problems among migrants in Turkey. I have many doubt on its scientific soundness and believe it does not fit the general audience of this journal.

OHS problems of migrants is a long standing issue, however this paper does not seem to add important knowledge: problems of migrants in Turkey are the same as those in other countries, with slight differences related to country-based laws and migrant policies.

The paper should be improved with a section on the migration history in the country and the current Turkish policies on migrant shelter and health.

Similarly, the list of OHS problems should be completed with possible solutions.

Author Response

Point 1: Thank you for the opportunity of revising this paper. The study aimed to merely list OHS problems among migrants in Turkey. I have many doubt on its scientific soundness and believe it does not fit the general audience of this journal.

Response 1:  OHS problems for migrant workers has not been established in Turkey, the early work in this field has been presented to you. The purpose of this study is to mobilize state administrators on this issue. The order of importance in solving the problems and the necessity of legal update form the framework of the article. I do not understand the reasons for your doubts about the scientific soundness of the article, I will answer if you have any questions.

Point 2: OHS problems of migrants is a long standing issue, however this paper does not seem to add important knowledge: problems of migrants in Turkey are the same as those in other countries, with slight differences related to country-based laws and migrant policies.

Response 2:  I want to give you an example for explaining the specific problems in Turkey. The definition of international migrant is as follows: people who leave their country of residence and move to another country, regardless of the reason and legal status of immigration, are called migrants. The definition of migrants in Turkey Settlement Act are as follows: Migrants, which is connected to the Turkish race and culture, come alone or those batches to settle to settle in Turkey. Because of this legal act Turkey, they put reservations on all international conventions relating to migrants. Even the demand that this problem needs to be solved will set an example for undeveloped and developing countries. In order to carry out sustainable migration studies, I think that the definition of immigration in all countries should be the same. (Explained on lines 126-148)

Point 3: The paper should be improved with a section on the migration history in the country and the current Turkish policies on migrant shelter and health.

Response 3: The paper should be improved with a section on the migration history in the country (Explained on lines 35-57) and the current Turkish policies on migrant shelter and health (Explained on lines 235-300).

Point 4:  Similarly, the list of OHS problems should be completed with possible solutions.

Response 4: The study on the solution can be seen in lines 214-232 and 431-450

I have read with pleasure this original paper that list the OHS problems of migrants in Turkey. In addition, the work is a criticism that the auithors make to the State power, and this make helps political actors to improve their actuations in the future.

Particularly, I highlight the use of the original methodology: Pareto analysis

However, I encourage the aurhors to pay attention to several aspects on your work, before publication:

-Please explain the difference between irregular migrant and refugee in Turkey.

-Please introduce a theoretical framework to your paper, so that the reader may apprecaite that there is a literatura on the topic.

Reviewer 3 Report

First of all, I consider that I do not have a sufficient level to evaluate the English used in the article, however, my appreciation is that it can improve considerably.

Abstract
It's not clear. It seems to me that the information could be organised and displayed more simply and clearly. The message is not understood.

The work carried out is focused solely on the problem in Turkey. However, I think it would be interesting to provide information on this issue in other countries. Doesn't it exist? Isn't there work that reflects this in other areas?

This limitation can be seen both in the introduction and in the discussion of the article. It would be enriched if these sections could be completed. In this way, it would be possible to have a more global vision of the problem analysed.

Regarding the method, Pareto Analysis is explained, but the description could be improved with respect to the procedure. It would be interesting to improve this aspect.

Point 3: The work carried out is focused solely on the problem in Turkey. However, I think it would be interesting to provide information on this issue in other countries. Doesn't it exist? Isn't there work that reflects this in other areas?

Response 3:  In the literature, we could not reach a study of ranking migrant and refugee workers according to the importance of OSH problems in any country. Turkey has specific problems in this regard. We believe that the problems found, and the ranking of importance can set an example for other countries.

Point 4: This limitation can be seen both in the introduction and in the discussion of the article. It would be enriched if these sections could be completed. In this way, it would be possible to have a more global vision of the problem analysed.

Response 4: Added in introduction, lines 125-128.

Point 5: Regarding the method, Pareto Analysis is explained, but the description could be improved with respect to the procedure. It would be interesting to improve this aspect.

Response 5: Necessary changes have been done at lines 187-204.
