Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

The article under the title "Delineation of Soil Fertility Management Zones for Site-specific Nutrient Management in the Maize Belt Region of Nigeria" is interesting. The experiment is well designe, while the manuscript is well written.

The only comment to the authors concerns refernces. I strongly suggest to add some newer works of the study area.

Author Response

Thank you for this suggestion. We would like to inform the reviewer that we have referenced very recent studies conducted in this area; including those in 2019 and 2020. It is our wish to add more but unfortunately we could not lay our hands on much of the recent ones in this area.

I hope the reviewer will reason that no much studies are reported in this area, and this is one of the reasons for conducting this study.

Reviewer 2 Report

I've attached my comments.

Round 2

Reviewer 2 Report

I understand the situation better following the response from the authors. I think from a relate-ability standpoint, it would not be unwelcome if some of that reply could make its way into the introduction, discussion, and/or conclusions. It helps better frame WHY the study is so important. I missed this point on the first read, and I think knowing this better helps the reader see the significance of the work.

Much improved with the trimmed down figures and graphs.
