Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

In the manuscript “Carbon Dynamics of Selected Ratios With and Without Indigeneous Microorganisms and Rates of Fruits and Vegetables  Wastes and Biodegradable Municipal Waste Composts Amended Oxisol”, the authors made an evaluation of short term compost amendment on organic carbon dynamics and soil respiration in a Munchong series soil (Oxisol). the document requires a thorough revision:

  1. In the abstract rewrite the sentences between lines 11 to 14, you use the term soil a lot. Write a brief description of the four composts.
  2. In line 17 to 22, shorten the sentences to understand, use periods.
  3. At the end of the introduction, explain what is the objective of your work?.
  4. Briefly describe  the preparation of composts, do not just refer to another study (28).
  5. Check lines 128-129.
  6. Line 163, describe the FTIR equipment used (make, model, city and country of manufacture).
  7. Use subscripts on chemical compounds (-NH2, CO2….) also kg m2
  8. Line 166, replace 19999 with 1999 and use a reference number.
  9. Line 163, use the description of FTIR given in line 166
  10. Add a Table to indicate the formulation of the different compost samples.
  11. It is difficult to understand the figures with the codes, because they are not defined. Additionally, the thickness of the lines is wide and the results are mixed, it is not possible to follow their behavior. Figures do not have a scale of divisions.
  12. Figure 3 requires special attention.
  13. There are several terms no defined, DHA, Trt, TRT, IMO, MSW
  14. Write reference 28 in the same way as the others (Upper / lower case) and include page numbers.
  15. This conclusions does not say anything “The results of the study showed that application of different composts at different application rates had significantly different effects”

Reviewer 2 Report

Dear Authors,

I carefully read the submission title 'CARBON DYNAMICS OF SELECTED RATIOS WITH AND WITHOUT INDIGENEOUS MICROORGANISMS AND RATES OF FRUITS AND VEGETABLES WASTES AND BIODEGRADABLE MUNICIPAL WASTE COMPOSTS- AMENDED OXISOL'. In fact more recently there has been an increasing interest to carbon dynamics of soil.

My first impression that the paper contain new information and title of the manuscript cover its content. The summary is appropriate and the aim of the work clearly established. The methods are used are adequate and used sophisticated techniques and equipment's.  I found the results very reliable. Discussion and conclusions are well documented and scientifically coherent.

However I have some corrections and additions on it before acceptance.

TITLE: Should be shortened

ABSTRACT:

Line 16 and 17 as a results (2 times used and please delete one of them)

Please use full name of abbreviations when use first time such as FTIR, IMO etc. The authors used full name of FTIR in line 27 as Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) but it must be used in Line 19 first.

INTRODUCTION Line 34-37.... Compost addition to soil has been reported to increase soil carbon stocks through the addition of labile and recalcitrant soil organic carbon with different turnover rates. Some studies report soil or ganic matter and soil properties can be improved with the addition of composts to soils  (2). YOU NEED MORE CITATIONS FOR THIS. I SUGGEST BELOW FRESH ONES
