Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

The manuscript is interesting. Nevertheless, it needs some further improvement before being accepted for publication. In general, there are still some occasional grammar errors throughout the manuscript, especially the article ‘’the’’, ‘’a’’ and ‘’an’’ is missing in many places; please make a spellchecking in addition to these minor issues. The reviewer has listed some specific comments that might help the authors further enhance the quality of the manuscript.

  1. Specific Comments

Please include a list of acronyms and abbreviations.

  • Introduction
  • The objectives are not explicitly stated.
  • The authors need to enrich further the background; please highlight the importance of renewable energy sources development in achieving sustainability goals. The following literature might be useful in this regard << Optimisation of cascade reservoir operation considering environmental flows for different environmental management classes>> and <<Water-energy-ecosystem nexus: Balancing competing interests at a run-of-river hydropower plant coupling a hydrologic–ecohydraulic approach>> you may review other additional relevant references as well.
  • What is the novelty of this work?

  • Methods
  • I would suggest showing the methodological approach through a flowchart
  • Methodology limitations should be mentioned.
  • All variables should be explained.
  • Please justify why your model-approach is feasible?
  • What was the data resolution used in the computations?

  • Results
  • This section well is written.

  • Discussion

This section is missing. The discussion should provide a summary of the main finding(s) of the manuscript in the context of the broader scientific literature and address any limitations of the study or results that conflict with other published work.

The strengths of the article is original and interesting considerations with is consistent with the pattern of research. Solid methodology of the research with statistical analysis.

Therefore contribution to existing knowledge is considerable. Also advantage of the research is perfect organization & readability.

The only weakness is the small number of citations, which can definitely be extended with such a popular and important topic.

In generally it is excellent article and very interesting considerations, which is consistent with the pattern of research. A very good review article with the analysis of statistics on the topic under study.

Dear Authors!

The current literature (including COVID) deserves a positive attention, but unfortunately only 14 items. Another important element that deserves recognition is the title, which is in line with the current world situation. I believe that any action aimed at improving the functionality of our world after Covid-1 deserves praise and will surely be met with great empathy from our readers. Summary with correct keywords. The conducted research shows logic and reliability. Below are suggestions that do not significantly affect the rating of the article. Line 29, lowercase paragraph or unfounded paragraph Footnotes inconsistent with the journal template. Table 1 too much exploded. Lines 167, 172 and 177 different combinations in square brackets 1,2 and 3. There should be the same distances and in ordinary, not square brackets. No reference to figure 1 before line 178, before figure. Figure 1. The drawing is unreadable, the blue circles are touching the inscription, which does not look professional. The drawing looks as if it was drawn by hand. Figure 3. The drawing is illegible. You could shoot it so that you could read anything between the yellow and blue circles. Otherwise, this drawing doesn't make sense. Figure 4. Drawing not legible, handwritten (this is what it looks like). I recommend using any program designed for this. What is the point of representing the digits x.0, x.0, x.0, there is no logic in representing this zero. I recommend that you release the article after implementing the suggested changes.

Greetings!

I wish you good health!
