Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

Its a very well written review article with extensive factual data.

The figure looks blurry and suggested to improve its visibility and readability.

Its recommended to use a little different wording if possible like stage 1 and phase for reader's better understanding.

Please try to synchronize the "Stage 1"  and "Stage two" either like "Stage one " and "Stage two" or "Stage 1" and "Stage 2".

Figure 3 points can be enlarged a little for reader's better readability.

If Table A1-A4 can be shown graphically with color showing the value, that would be more appealing and easy to compare for the readers.

REview

Dear authors,

Thanks for the opportunity to review your manuscript titled „Identifying the key Big Data Analytics Capabilities in Bangladesh’s healthcare sector“.

I really enjoyed reading your study and I am convinced it can make a good contribution to the ongoing discussion on BDAC.

However, I have a few remarks that you hopefully find helpful further improve your manuscript:

  • It would be great to strengthen the relevance of your study in a sustainability context. There is already a reference to one BDA paper in Sustainability but there should be more connection to the journal’s scope.
  • Additionally, more clearly and concretely pose the research question in your introduction.
  • I recommend to integrate findings of the following studies of the field to include sufficient relevant and recent  studies in the field:
    • „Reshaping competitive advantages with analytics capabilities in service systems“ Technological Forecasting and Social Change (2020)
    • „Human-related capabilities in big data analytics: a taxonomy of human factors with impact on firm performance“ - Review of Managerial Science (2021)
    • „The role of management in fostering analytics: the shift from intuition to analytics-based decision-making“ Journal of Decision Systems (2022)
    • „Exploring the path to big data analytics success in healthcare“ Journal of Business Research (2017)
  • Please rephrase the sentence p. 1. l. 41. It appear confusing to talk about HBR in sentence that references to an JBR paper.
  • Please be more specific on p. 2, l. 53. Where do you draw the hypothesis from, that there is the high chance that companies would not benefit - is there a reference or just a gut feeling.
  • Elaborate further on how you conducted the literature review as part of your research design: Was any methodological approach followed? How do you avoid to have just a convenient sample that supports your own view? Could you also provide more details on the studies selected (how many, which ones?)?
  • For the questionnaires it would also be helpful to get more details: How many questions? Which ones? Etc. Further be more specific if it was a real questionnaire or an interview guideline.
  • The context of developing countries should also be more elaborated on. On p. 14, l. 501 it is mentioned that it was crucial to conduct this study in the context of a devloping country. Why? Is there any hint (maybe in other studies) that BDAC are different in developing countries than in developed ones? Just because no one has conducted a study in this context does not make it a research gap.
  • In the implications it is mentioned that policymakers could use the  BDACs for policy making (p. 15, l. 524). Be more specific here. What could be done concretely?

I hope this comments help to further improve your research. Good luck!
