In this paper, the authors proposed a small axial flow pump, and then they studied the internal flow field, external characteristics, and pressure distribution of the axial flow pump under different frequency conversion and speed regulation forms, and verifies the accuracy of the numerical simulation results through experimental methods. Some suggestions are followed. 

1. Fig. 20 PIV experiments of acceleration schemes and Figure 21. PIV experiments of deceleration scheme. They are blurred. Please make it clear to the readers. 

2. Figure.3 there are Chinese characters inside. 

3. Figure.6 and FIgure.7 are really blurred, which is difficult for me to understand.  

4. With the continuous broadening of the application field of axial pumps and the rapid development of intelligent pumps, the influence of unsteady flow and transient external characteristics of axial pumps in the process of speed mutation has attracted the attention of scholars at home and abroad. Then the authors show a lot of previous research and they might do the same work as the authors did in the paper. therefore, what is your originality in this work? 

5. The authors did a good job in this paper but their layout and description in this paper are not so good. Please check your target, logic, and typos in this paper. 

6. In the introduction, other axial flow pumps and their simulation methods should be mentioned, like a fluidic rolling robot using voltage-driven oscillating liquid and an eccentric actuator driven by stacked electrohydrodynamic pumps.

Dear authors of the paper "Transient characteristics analysis of variable frequency speed-regulation of axial flow pump". Please find below my recommendations in order to improve the paper quality:

- please insert the number item also for Introduction.

- the main characteristics of the axial pump presented in chapter 1.1 Simulation model, can be inserted in a table for better visualization.

- on the experimental facility presented in Figure 4, please add the main components if possible.

- on the experimental data please add the error bars. Please discuss the uncertainty of the sensors.

- the graphs with experimental data usually contain only the measurement points with the error bar, not the lines. Please consider this.

- on the graphs, PIV experiments are unclear where have been made. Please explain in the text better and add a picture if possible.
