Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

The authors have tangled an interesting topic. The paper is generally well-written, easy to read and easy to understand. The methodology is comprehensive, and the results provide some insights. The study is based on interviewing a small number of respondents, but still some of the conclusions may be useful and of interest to a wider readership.

1. "Creative life industry" seems to be specifically related to Taiwanese context. Please add a bit more detailed explanation of what CLI actually means, and provide some examples. In addition, although there are only a few papers related to CLI in Taiwan (some are present in the references list, some are not), it would make sense to add one paragraph in the literature review to summarize what has been studied do far, and how.

2. Regarding the research context and participants, it would be good to add the following details: 1) Please compare the two selected cases. Do they target the same groups? Are they in the same price range? Do they provide similar experiences? Can we treat the 20 participants as the same sample, or should we compare them to make conclusions? If there are differences between resorts, then some comparison between participants should be made. 2) Please state if the participants visited one of two resorts only once, or more than once. This should be discussed in relations to brand loyalty.

3. Data from Table 2 could be integrated with Figure 1, most of the content is already similar.

4. Conclusion should be extended so as to include practical and managerial implications. Please provide more details on what you can recommend to the management of the two resorts, based on your results.

5. Research limitation should be made as a separate paragraph within discussion.

Reviewer 2 Report

The manuscript's topic is very interesting and discovered a rare industry in culture tourism, namely the Creative Life Industry (CLI). However, the aim of the research is not clear, whether to study factors or elements of realm experience in CLI (stated in the abstract, Line 14 and Line 18). Do factors mean elements? Please standardise the term used throughout the manuscript. The purpose of developing a framework is missing in the manuscript. The flow and explanation of variables are not clear – a detailed explanation on 4Es is needed concerning Pine and Gilmore; the author needs to support the arguments and the relevancy of the theory with current business practice. The author needs to revise the steps taken for the research (Line 227). The topic has clearly stated the term “case study”; therefore, an explanation of the case study is needed in the methodology section. Please also confirm whether using the company’s name in the manuscript has no P&C issue. The author should also emphasise the secondary data and observation process and results in the manuscripts. Please also explain the source of Figure 1 and Figure 2 – what does it base on, and/or how did you develop it? In the conclusion section, you should explain how does your research useful to both parties (Line 595-596).

The paper discusses an interesting topic of discussion.

Please consider expanding the discussion on the initiatives by the relevant authority based on the findings of the study

In the methodology part: present the questions given to the respondents

In the conclusion part please expand the discussion on theoretical, managerial, and policy implications and add a paragraph concerning the limitations of the study.

Reviewer 4 Report

This study is quite interesting, but it requires thorough revision.

1. Regarding the methodology of the study, the author must explain a methodological approach for analyzing qualitative research.

2. Figure 1 consists of four quadrants. Please present the interviewees who fall into each quadrant.

3. In the section of results, it is necessary to match the interview contents with theoretical justification or empirical studies.
