Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

The manuscript introduces the Internet of Things component in a power system. Addressing both forecasting and power system analyzer in real time is interesting for many researchers. The idea of including open source software packages such as SQLite, LSTM, ngspyce, Shapely Addititve Explanations, and Paho-MQTT is a major contribution to this paper. Moreover, power calculation analyzers for transient-state, steady-state, and symmetrical component analysis enhanced the proposed strategies. However, I have a few questions about the revision process.

Specific comments:

  1. In the introduction, the game theory-based SHAP method and its relation to machine learning LSTM are unclear.
  2. Even though the SPICE model is used for power flow computing analyzers, the SPIC model is not described in the introduction.
  3. Sections 2 and 3 can be merged together and reduced as both support the platform and literature of the manuscript.
  4. There is no proper proposed algorithm in Section 3. The title should be changed or follow Comment 3.
  5. What is the difference between "important factor explainer" and "important factor explaining"? Equation (8) is derived from the literature. If so, could you prove the local accuracy, missingness, and consistency properties in your esteemed model? Please validate an important factor by developing a proper model in Section 3.
  6. As the forecast solver and power flow computing analyzer are cascaded, it is better to address the important factor and its impact in Section 4.
  7. What are the landscape images in your results? Please be clear with the figures.
  8. Add more forecasting results and compare them with MLP and GB to support Section 2.2.
  9. Figure 17 is missing.

General comments:

  1. Check the font size in Lines 153–155 and make it regular.
  2. Figure 10 and Figure 11 can be combined.
  3. Remake Figures 14, 15, and 16 with proper labels and units.
  4. Remake Figure 18 with the corresponding labels.

Reviewer 2 Report

This paper presents a lab prototype concept allocated inside the FTU chassis. It’s an interesting topic and well-presented however there is a room that should be addressed before publication.

·         Please update the abstract by adding some background sentences at the start.

·         There are many grammatical mistakes that should be corrected such as; in line 92, the sentence does not seem correct. So, improves the whole manuscript by proofreading many times.

·         In the reference list, most references are three to five years old. It can be improved by adding the latest papers, especially papers from 2021 and 2022.

·         In line 197, one bracket close is missed.

·         In Fig. 11 some information is not readable.

·         Fig. 17 is missed in the result section

Round 2

Reviewer 1 Report

The second version of the manuscript has sufficiently improved and contain necessary information.  However, references are mismatched between version 1 and 2. Please revise the references and figures order properly. I have following general comments.

1) Please check line 202 , the value of parameter might be missing.

2) Recheck the reference [22] between version 1 and 2. Please ensure all references and their proper order.

3) It is not mentioned that, whether figure 15 is missed or removed from the version 1.
