Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

Authors investigated and well presented the flexural behaviour of prestressed specified density concrete composite beams. I recommend this paper for publication after minor revision.

(1) Please revise the introduction section with the adequate discussion of need and purpose of the work and its relation to prior work. Avoid “agglomerating the references in a particular places. Example: large number of studies on the deformation of specified density concrete materials[2-6] and their physical and mechanical properties[7-15] have shown that”.

(2) Please include particle size analysis or weather it is an average size- “particle size 12.5mm were used as finer and courser aggregate”.

(3) Mention the ASTM standard followed for the mechanical testing.

(4) Figure 6- is it possible to reproduce the pattern clearly by using any software?

(5) Why most of the tables contains load values instead of strength of the samples? please provide the strength values.

(6) Ensure all the experimental values are with error values and line graphs / bar charts with error bar.

(7) In discussion section, the supporting literature is missing. Please revise the discussion part with suitable literatures.

(8) “ultimate load can be 325 calculated according to the relevant formulas in the 《Code》. Please provide the numerical results in conclusion.

(9) Check the language of the paper thoroughly.

(10)   Please some recent references from the years 2021 and 2022.

(11)   Please some references from the journal sustainability.

(12)   Please ensure all the listed references are cited inside the text.

Reviewer 2 Report

The authors conducted experimental study on presstered compoiste beams. There are some major request before further evaulation:

1) What is e GB 50010-2010. It is not an international code therefore please avoid to use in abstract.

2) Please give more detail on specified density concrete materials

3) The novelty is not clear. Please more emphasize on significance of reseach

4) The authors mentioned about prefabricated structures in both abstract and introduction; however no information was provided on this subject. I strongtly suggest to add information about these sturctures using followings, damages on prefabricated concrete dapped-end purlins due to snow loads and a novel reinforcement detail, experimental and numerical investigations of steel fiber reinforced concrete dapped-end purlins, excessive snow induced steel roof failures in Turkey

5) Why C40 was utilized?

6) What is the ratio of shear span to effective depth? It is very important parameter should be disuccesed and given. Please use this study to discuceess this, numerical evaluation of effects of shear span, stirrup spacing and angle of stirrup on reinforced concrete beam behaviour, behavior of CFRP-strengthened RC beams with circular web openings in shear zones: numerical study, mechanical steel stitches: an innovative approach for strengthening shear deficiency in undamaged reinforced concrete beams

7) Fig 6 is not clear. Enlarge this figure

8) In figure 5 why failure is not shown?

9) Please include future study on conclusion

10) What is 2AH4.8 used in presstressed?
