Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

The article is fine. Authors may just need to highlight the motivation for the study in the introduction section. They also need to highlight the contributions in the introduction and conclusion sections.

This paper is quite interesting and has been well written. However, there is some minor correction before acceptance.

1. In the section of introduction, the authors must address the key theoretical contributions. It is not clear.

2. Data were collected using questionnaire-based survey, but the authors should fully address how to collect their data from panels.

3. I am also concerned about response bias . Furthermore, please provide more details about reliability and validity.

Reviewer 3 Report

The paper gives a good theoretical background in the field of manufacturing value creation. The authors should add a paragraph in conclusion about possible pathways of future work and in the discussion section compare the results with the previous researches not from China, but on the global level.
