Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

Thanks for the authors' efforts in comprehensively reviewing the literature to take a deeper look at the relationship between climate change and agricultural market competitiveness. The paper can be better presented with a few minor revisions:

  1. Line 61. Unfinished sentences.
  2. Table 3: Please spell out indices in the row and column names.
  3. The authors can employ figures to summarize their structure and review findings, use maps/figures to visualize which crop/regions/micro-industry that current literature has been focused on, and the gap between "ideal research" and current literature.
  4. Check grammar.

Reviewer 2 Report

Section 2.1.2. Several studies have investigated the impacts of climate change-induced hazards such as drought and floods on agriculture, competitiveness and markets. Consideration of these sources is recommended.

Section 2.1.2. inclusion of English language studies is a major limitation of this study. Due to the fact that economic and marketing related journals are limited and many scholars prefer to publish papers in non-English language journals. Since the abstract of many research papers is provided in English, it is proposed to search papers with English abstract. If the number of papers related to the impacts of climate change on agricultural products, and also agricultural competitiveness in a particular language (e.g., Spanish) was significant, it is recommended to invite a native researcher to increase the comprehensiveness of this review article. If it is not possible, this issue should be mentioned as one of the major limitations of this study.

Section 2.1.2. A list of reviewed studies should be provided in the appendix.

Section 3: Please explain in a separate section: most of the reviewed studies were conducted in which countries or regions? What is their publication date? Mainly to determine whether the literature on this subject is evolving or not. What agricultural products have been studied the most and why? Which indices have been applied and why? ,….

Section 3.1. In my opinion, it is not necessary to describe climate change definition, and its causes and effects.

Table 3: please mention competitiveness dimensions in a table and avoid footnote.

Table 3: Is the number of SCI index 17? If yes, what are the two other dimensions? Based on Table 3, SCI has only 15 dimensions.

Table 3: Is the number of TTCI index 14? As indicated in Table 3, TTCI has only 13 dimensions.

Section 3.2, page 13, lines 4-5: the xiii and xvi dimensions have been emphasized on five indices. While ix has been considered in four indices not five. Please modify it.

Section 3.2, measures of competitiveness: This section should be assigned as Section 3.3.

Section 3.3: Various definitions and classifications regrading competitiveness were presented in Section 3.2. These theoretical foundations will inevitably affect how competitiveness is measured and its dimensions are determined. Therefore, it is recommended to explain which theory or approach has been adopted in the reviewed studies.

Section 3.3: Let us know which global competitiveness index is preferred and why?

Section 3.4, page 14, lines 45-47: It is repetitive.

Overall: There are several typographical and grammar errors in the text. The manuscript must be read and rewritten by a native speaker.

Thanks for your revisions. I think this manuscript still needs some grammar and typographic corrections.
