Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

This is a very interesting, relevant work, that calls for a reflection and action upon a sensitive societal problem. Also a human problem, one that affects many families and needs to be better implemented in the field. The results testify that further efforts must be made in order to better prepare professionals for such challenges - or even raise awareness amongst the educational communities.

Points 2. - 4. are in my opinion very clearly formulated, but the introduction still requires some improvements, particularly in terms of language. Some segments are very wordy and therefore confusing. For example, lines 45-52 constitutes a single sentence. An even longer sentence goes from line 52 until 65 - that's 12 lines that need to be broken into shorter segments for the sake of readability.

What I feel that needs to be readjusted as well is the tone: we all understand the sensitiveness of the topic and the frustration it may bring, but emphatic expressions such as "miraculously" (ls. 80, 87, 88), "super teachers" (l. 88) or "curiously enough" (l. 80) uttered in an almost ironic  (if not sarcastic) tone are not adequate for research pieces, where distance and objectivity are required.

Some other details:

  • something seems off in lines 33-34 and needs some rephrasing
  • "ratified, Nor..." (l. 50)
  • sometimes the authors use an en-dash (–) sometimes a hyphen (-) to add extra information. For the sake of consistency, all hyphens should be replaced by en-dashes.

Author Response

Dear Reviewer:

In the first place, those paragraphs that were excessively long have been subdivided. Second, those adjectives you pointed out to us, such as miraculously, have been revised. Likewise, we have also revised the wording of line 33-34 and all the hyphens transforming them into dashes.  I inform you that all the requested changes have been made.

Reviewer 2 Report

It would be better to simplify tables 6,7,8 and 9 by including only those indicators that are significant.

It is important to introduce discussion in the conclusions, providing ideas about other studies that support the conclusions or include other conclusions.

It is considered necessary to include a section on the possible limitations of the study and prospective or possible lines of research.

The bibliographical references need to be revised because the citation criteria in some cases are random. Some of these references are not well cited.
