Reviewer 2 Report

The paper is interesting and deals with a still relevant context of these days. However the paper seems to be a case study for Vietnam. The authors should try to better pinpoint from the first lines of their manuscript how the paper is relevant for the international literature.

Introduction

From an academic writing perspective you need to have in the introduction the description of the

- research gap

- way how the research gap is transposed into the research question

- link between the research question and the theory behind the paper...or the theory which the paper is enhancing

- way how the research question is implemented in the paper, especially in the methodology

- last paragraph of the introduction should contain a description of the paper next sections.

It should also be stated with arguments how the paper is novel, i.e. how it contributes in extending literature

The problem is that a paper should have one research scope or research question which can be divided into several research objectives. Therefore what you have here as

"thor identifies the objectives of this study based on an analysis of the develop- 95 ment status of the international tourist market to Vietnam following the COVID-19 pan- 96 demic and previous studies"

should be reframed accordingly

Lit review

"According to Żemła (2016), there is"; "According to Seoho and Crompton (1990), th" should also be transformed into the reference style of the journal

The relationship between behavioral intentions and decisions as regards COVID-19-related factors influencing the destination choice of international visitors has not been covered, and thus such sources can be cited: Birtus, M., and Lăzăroiu, G. (2021). “The Neurobehavioral Economics of the COVID-19 Pandemic: Consumer Cognition, Perception, Sentiment, Choice, and Decision-Making,” Analysis and Metaphysics 20: 89–101. doi: 10.22381/am2020216. Rydell, L., and Suler, P. (2021). “Underlying Values that Motivate Behavioral Intentions and Purchase Decisions: Lessons from the COVID-19 Pandemic,” Analysis and Metaphysics 20: 116–129. doi: 10.22381/am2020218. Pop, R., Saplacan, Z., Dabija, D.C., and Alt, A.M. (2022). “The Impact of Social Media Influencers on Travel Decisions: The Role of Trust in Consumer Decision Journey,” Current Issues in Tourism 25(5): 823-843. doi: 10.1080/12683500.2021.1895729.

The methodology is quite well developed, but some more arguments regarding the relevance of choosing this tourism destination should be included. It should also be clear from the introduction what analysis have been performed and in which order.

Results are presented well.

The section of discussions should be enhanced by adding more information about comparisons between own findings and previous results from the literature.

Conclusions should consist from

theoretical implications

managerial contributions

limitations

future research perspectives

References should not be cited at conclusions

Text referencing must be adapted to the journal citing style.

The nb of recent references should be increased.

REVIEW STATEMENT

Journal: sustainability

PAPER TITLE: COVID-19 Pandemic and Factors Influencing the Destination 2 Choice of International Visitors to Vietnam

This is an important topic about an interesting case study; however, there are some concerns that should be addressed before publishing this manuscript, and these are discussed below for improvement.

Abstract and Key words:   it is better to move this statement ‘’Quality evaluations 9 and strategies for attracting international tourists are being thoroughly’’ to L15

It is necessary to define ASEAN. What it stands for..

The author or authors -should check all through the manuscript.

Introduction: The problem of the study needs to be clearly articulated

Literature review: The literature review and its subsections are a type of reporting without arguing approach demonstrating the state of the art and the trends and gaps in relation to the study's topic, neither internationally nor nationally.

Materials and Method: In phase 2, the following tasks will be performed- why you use WILL, the study is done. Moreover, when the authors have collected the data

Why is there no discussion of the results? There is only reporting and descriptive analysis of the results available, with no underlying discussion.

I suggest including a   section about Vietnam with a map

Summary statement: a very worthy subject. Using the suggestions provided; I recommend the publication of this manuscript

Round 2

Reviewer 2 Report

As most of my suggestions were implemented, the paper has a fair chance of being accepted, but some more references should be used.

"r define the objective of this research with the following questions:" it is not the objective, but the scope of the research

The scope is always above objectives

Before writing each hypothesis there should be a kind of text stating... Based on these arguments we hypothesize that: ...

For H2 you only cite 1 references, 18. This is quite strange. I really think that you could cite more references.

"f VIF > 10, multi collinearity exists. W" This depends on the reference. Hair et al. 2010 set a standard of 5. Diamantopolous sets a standard of 3.3. So please cite the reference for 10

Table 2 ... I find it redundant to also include the valid and the cumulative percent, as you do not analyze them further and as you also do not explain the later columns

Table 3. It is not scale, but construct

Scale would be the construct with the items/variables that compose that scale!

No. of observed variables with an s

I would expect to have a table with the considered hypothesis and the beta values and the p values and also an explanation if the hypothesis is accepted or not. I do not find that table. I also would expect to read in more detail the situation of each hypothesis and what it actually represents.

One paragraph should always be longer than 1 sentence-phrase.

It should be conclusions

Conclusions consists of implications, limitations, future research perspectives

The nb of references must be increased.
