Abstract

1.      Make correction in the scientific name of mung  beans (Vigna radiate L)  line no. 10

2.      Rewrite for better clarity “However, climate 11 change is one of the most serious threats to global crop such production at present and it will con-12 tinue to be the largest threat in the future.” Line no. 11-12

3.      Put a space in between “V.unguiculata”  and check it throughout the manuscript

4.      The abstract is very lengthy, and concise it writing result centric

Introduction

1.      Rewrite the sentence “Food insecurity is a common occurrence in Ethiopia's … climate change and fluctuation [1].” Line no. 45-49 for better clarity.

2.      Briefly mention the importance of pulses in food and nutritional security. The author can go through the following paper-Jaiswal, D. K., Krishna, R., Chouhan, G. K., de Araujo Pereira, A. P., Ade, A. B., Prakash, S., ... & Verma, J. P. (2022). Bio-fortification of minerals in crops: current scenario and future prospects for sustainable agriculture and human health. Plant Growth Regulation, 1-18.

3.      The introduction section is written nicely but the information related to the mung bean and cowpea can be concise.

Method and materials

1.      I think, the “data collection” will better suit than “data gathering”  

2.      Change “Species Occurrence Data” to “Species Occurrence”

3.      Give the geographical location of “Addis Ab-162 aba University's National Herbarium, Ethiopian Biodiversity Institute, Global Biodiversity Information Facility (GBIF)” line no. 162-164

4.      The method and materials section are written nicely

Results and discussion

1.      Rewrite the sentence “The environmental data give landscape-level information to calculate the ecological 276 tolerances of the focal species.” For better clarity, line no.276-277

2.      Table 1 and figure 1 and 2 are ok

3.      Figure 3 and 4 are ok

4.      Table 2 is ok but it is better to give only two digits after the decimal

5.      Figure 5 and 6 are ok

6.      The results section is written and presented nicely

7.      The discussion section is also written nicely and the interpretation of results in the discussion is ok

Conclusion

1.      Concise the conclusion section and modify it for better soundness

Overall, the manuscript presented in a nice manner and there are very few reports available on the present study but, there are many minor grammatical mistakes and the use of unscientific words which can be improved.
