Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

The articel is structured good and objective oriented. It is good written and its readability as well. Abstract is good and introduction gives general information about the issue. Literature review is good summarized and functional to the objective of the study. Findings discussion is good and there is a correspondence b/n the objective and the results. Results are summarized in Figs and Tabs very good. Analysis is also good and functional to the objective of the study.

Minor revision is needed for the following points:

-          Figure 3: Main corridors in Central Africa (a) from [10], (b) from [58], (c) from [59] in P.7, a, b and c must be given on the graphic

-          Figure 6: Slope map in p. 14: 0-6.27, 6.17- 16.73 should have to be 6.27- 16.73 not 6.17- 16.73.

Reviewer 2 Report

This work examines whether Landsat 8 (with a high cloud level) and SRTM data can be used in both equatorial and coastal Central Africa zones to produce relevant mapping, locating fracture and landslide zones, in order to contribute not only to better road layout at lower cost and in a relatively short time, but also to better prevention of geological disasters that may occur on its network. This work is lack of scientific contribution so it has to be rejected.

Reviewer 3 Report

The study concerns the use of satellite data to map fracture and landslides interacting with the road networks in Central Africa. Some comments to be addressed for considering the manuscript suitable for publication, are provided below.

1) The title should be modified. It should mention the use of satellite data which is the core of the study

2) Section 1. The state-of-the-art should be extended by commenting on studies which adopt satellite data to analyse geohazards. Particularly, some discussion should be provided on the advantages of the use of satellite with respect to other conventional approaches, on issues related to specific data adopted (e.g. type of data and spatial resolution). In addition, the authors should mention other techniques which are suitable to analyse the evolution of geohazard-induced displacements such as SAR interferometry (e.g. 10.1016/j.autcon.2022.104707, 10.1177/14759217211045912).

3) Section 2.1. At Pg 5., some acronyms (maybe related to figure 2) are explained within the main text. Please provide appropriate corrections. Figure 3: the authors may consider the use of OpenStreetMap to identify the road network layout (if data are available for the area of interest)

4) Section 4.2 At pg24,  the authors mention that a statistical analysis is carried out and that a coefficient of correlation is computed. Please provide further clarifications on how this statistical analysis is performed and the correlation coefficient is computed.

No modifications are needed.

Round 2

Reviewer 2 Report

Some improvements have been made in the manuscript, minor corrections are necessary e.g., equipment of remote sensing and GIS should be added, some fonts in Fig. 4, are indiscernible.
