Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

The article entitled “The Greta Thunberg effect on climate equity: A Worldwide 2 Google Trend Analysis” is written very well and according to the scope of journal. Therefore, I recommend to publish the article in Sustainability after addressing following comments.

1. Please don’t provide any space in the abstract. The abstract should have to be written without any space.

2. Line 44-45, the given statement should have to update with given studies [1-4] as “The mitigation of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and adaptation to climate risk are two essential ingredients of climate change policy to reduce the damages [1-4].”

[1] Extreme weather events risk to crop-production and the adaptation of innovative management strategies to mitigate the risk: A retrospective survey of rural Punjab, Pakistan

[2] Estimating smart energy inputs packages using hybrid optimisation technique to mitigate environmental emissions of commercial fish farms

[3] Sensitivity analysis of greenhouse gas emissions at farm level: case study of grain and cash crops.

Please write the main contributions of the article and research questions at the end of introduction.

[4] Analysis of Energy Input–Output of Farms and Assessment of Greenhouse Gas Emissions.

3. Writing and grammar need to be improved by professional academics. I suggest you use abbreviations only for the most important definitions in the article (no more than three abbreviations) and use the full name for some less important and less frequent words because too many abbreviations largely interrupt the flow of the main text.

In the revised article, I highly recommend to add a conceptual framework of the study.

The discussion section should have to improve with latest studies.

The conclusion section should have to improve. In particular, it should be prolonged including the main objectives, methods, results and policy implications.

Best of luck with publication.

Reviewer 2 Report

First of all, congratulations on the topic and the study. However, some changes are needed to improve the paper in order to enhance its value.

The abstract would benefit if the methodology applied to the study was included. Also, the jump between paragraphs makes it confusing.

The following line needs to identify the author: “Ref. [11] suggested that the main cause of the high vulnerability among low-emitting countries is a lack of adaptive capacity.

Remove the Google Trends link in the middle of the text because it adds no value or create a reference for it.

The last paragraph of the introduction should be moved to the beginning of the materials and methods section. Meanwhile, there is a lack of identification of a clear goal for the paper. It is analyse how Google Trends works? It is analysing how Google Trends impacts climate change movements?

Is the use of a 2015 research to base the study a good option? Aren’t there more updated studies to serve as basis for this paper?

Conclusion would benefit it implications for practice and theory were summarized based on the questions: what future researchers can do? What are the limitations of this paper and how it can affect future researchers? What are governments able to change in order to reduce climate change? What can individuals do to act? From the results, a series of important contributions could be added at the conclusion to enhance the quality and value of the paper.

Take a look at the references and add doi to the papers that have it.

Dear Author,

The idea of your article is interesting and deals with the important issue of the climate crisis and the need for climate change through influencing public opinion.

On the other hand, the manuscript should be improved. I have the following comments and recommendations:

- the aim of the article is not clearly defined

- the sub-chapters of the article are not correctly labeled (chapter 2 is followed by sub-chapter 1.1..., the sub-chapters in chapters 3, 4... are also incorrectly labeled)

- I recommend the author consider whether it would not be more appropriate to place Figures 4 and 5 in the Results section and just refer to them in the Discussion section

- add details of the survey conducted ( e.g. number of questions, the wording of questions in Supporting Information ).

- the limitations of the work should be discussed and highlighted

- future research directions may also be mentioned

- the conclusion of the thesis is too short and concise.

Good luck with your future research.
