Comments and Suggestions for AuthorsMajor points
1) In lines 52-55, “For example, green leadership [8,9], green human resource management (HRM) practices [7], and organizational support toward the environment [16] are positively associated with employees’ GIWB, whereas exploitative leadership [18] exhibits a negative association with such behavior.”: What did previous literature say about the determinants of GIWB at different levels, such as environmental, organizational, and individual? Specifically, what is the gap in the previous literature? Just because recent research has recognized that ECSR is an important driver for GIWB does not necessarily mean new research is needed. This requires more justification. Simply put, why the current study focuses on ECSR needs more explanation.
2) Line 59: What is environmental corporate social responsibility (ECSR)? What is its pivotal and distinct role? Please elaborate.
a. Section 2.2 does explain what ECSR means, but it would be great you can briefly explain why this study focuses on ECSR, not CSR.
b. Despite your statement and that of the previous literature asserting that the extent of CSR does not always align with an equivalent level of ECSR, there appears to be an interchangeable use of these terms, as exemplified in the sentence in lines 158-161: “Given that employees’ perceptions of CSR significantly impact organizational outcomes [58], as well as their active roles in implementing CSR initiatives are crucial [57,59], research into the interplay between ECSR and employees has become increasingly imperative.”
3) Lines 95-107: Aren't the second and third contributions examples of the first contribution?
4) Among many organisms in the context of S-O-R, you should have discussed why the study focuses on environmental commitment and creative self-efficacy. There must be many cognitive and affective states that can also affect employees’ GIWB. What does the previous literature say about this?"
5) How do you measure P-O fit?
6) Lines 155-158: What is the difference between environmental behavior and green innovative behavior?
7) Lines 485-489, “Previous studies have established the positive impact of ECSR on various types of extra-role behaviors, including environmental citizenship behavior [26], pro-environmental behavior [23-25], and social responsibility behavior [22]. However, the unique and crucial extra-role behavior of employees' GIWB has not received sufficient attention.”: How are GIWB different from environmental citizenship behavior, pro-environmental behavior, and social responsibility behavior?
Minor points
1) In lines 113-117, “The S-O-R framework, a prominent theoretical model that originated in environmental psychology, provides insight into how the stimuli within human contexts shape an individual’s internal state, subsequently influencing their behaviors, represented as responses [27]. Environmental stimuli comprise a wide range of factors that can potentially induce personal changes within the organizations, including corporate values and management approaches [26,34].” The stimuli used in the study do not exist 'within' human contexts.
2) In line 290, Within -> within
