Review: Goat and Sheep Meat Production in Indonesia
Round 1

Comments and Suggestions for AuthorsIn this paper, the author comprehensively and systematically reviewed the production systems and products of goats and sheep in Indonesia. Overall, it is highly readable, I just have two small comments about the figures:
Figure 2 displays the Javanese thin-tailed and fat-tailed sheep breeds, but does not illustrate the tail shapes of these breeds. I suggest taking photographs from a different angle to better showcase this feature.
There are no Figure 4C and 4D in Figure 4.
Author Response

Response: We have added the new pictures of thin-tailed and fat-tailed sheep breeds which showed the different angle of the tails. We believe that the new pictures provided would be clearly explained.
- There are no Figure 4C and 4D in Figure 4.
Response: We have removed the explanation of Figure 4C and 4D.

Comments and Suggestions for AuthorsI congratulate the authors of a very interesting review work providing information on the distribution of sheep and goats in Indonesia in 38 provinces, the types of breeds bred there, their production and consumption behavior in Indonesia, with an indication of the religious holidays that cause the greatest demand for these meats. This review is utilitarian in nature as it provides information to stakeholders of goat and sheep production chains.
Tables and figures are presented clearly. References are appropriate.provinces, breed types which grow there, their production and Indonesian consumption
I believe that information on the sheep and goat population in Indonesia in 2009-2019 can be included in the work.
Table 1 lacks data on consumption, exports and imports for 2019. I think they are known and should be included, then the information will be complete. I believe that after completing this information, the work can be published in the journal Sustainability. Is there any legislation regulating the use of Halal methods in Indonesia. If so, please refer to them in the article.
