Comments and Suggestions for Authors

General comments:

First, I would like to acknowledge the authors' efforts to develop the research and to write the manuscript.  Therefore, from my point of view, I see some room for further development. My comments are as follow:

- The source would be added to the figures to know the author/s of the information.

Keywords:

- The word China shoud be added.

Introduction:

- the introduction should capture more discussion about the resilience of tourism economies.

- Is the figure 1 necessary?

- the section 1.4 is difficult to understand. Coud the authors explain better?

Spatiotemporal Evolution of Provincial Tourism Economic Systems in China:

- the section is difficult to understand. I suggest to the authors to restructure it and, perhaps, reduce the quantity of figures.

Conclusion and discussion:

- There is no discussion. The authors should add discussion.

- The theoretical and practical contribution of the paper should be reinforced because is very weak. Also, the limitations and the further research should be described.

Comments and Suggestions for Authors

Taking provincial tourism data from 2012 to 2022 for example, this paper explored the resilience of tourism economies in Chinese provinces. Overall, the logic of this paper is clear and the research is meaningful, but there are still some problems in this paper that need to be further modified and improved.

First, Line 175, as author stated that drawing on existing research on tourism economic resilience,  this study constructs a tourism economic resilience evaluation indicator system across four dimensions. However, What exactly are these documents? How are the weight values in Table 1 obtained? Why is this set up? These questions need to be further clarified by the authors.

Second, the policy implications of this study should be further discussed. The existing writing is not specific enough.

Comments and Suggestions for Authors

The study examines a very current topic, Tourism Economic Resilience is one of the important challenges of today, especially in a growing destination like China.

The structure of the research is clear, the research goals are clear. The literature review includes the most important international literature. At the same time, I recommend processing the following articles:

Li T., Bujdoso Z(2023): ECONOMIC VULNERABILITY OF SPECIALIZED TOURISM CITY: A CAST STUDY IN SOUTHWEST OF CHINA GEOJOURNAL OF TOURISM AND GEOSITES 47 : 2 pp. 600-630

Li T., Bujdoso Z(2020): SUSTAINABLE TOURISM IN DALI (PROGRESS, CHALLENGES AND OPPORTUNITIES) ACTA CAROLUS ROBERTUS 10 : 1 pp. 141-148.

The study was conducted using a modern and diverse methodology, the results are correct and contribute to the development of scientific knowledge.

I recommend that general, global recommendations based on the research be formulated in the Conclusions chapter.

I absolutely recommend the article for publication.
