Comments and Suggestions for Authors

This is an interesting study developing a framework for smart nexus for agriculture in Korea. The study was well-designed and written in good English.  Overall, this manuscript could be accepted after only minor revesion.

Minor concerns

There are so many abbreviations in this manuscipt that bring some troubles for reading. The authors could should make an abbreviation list.

The authors should discuss the limitation of SNAK developed in this study and highlight the advantages of SNAK in comparison with other integrated resource management system .

Dear Editor and reviewers

We appreciate your comments and tried to apply all comments to the revised manuscript. The main comments seemed to be related to the contribution of the nexus platform for sustainable resource management under climate change.

First, we tried to show the requirement of nexus platform for assessing holistic impact of climate change in agriculture area. So, we added more recent studies that applied the nexus concept to the resource management in order to strength the theory of nexus.

Second, there were still limitations of application of SNAK in a scale issue, thus, we added more explanation of limitations and possible future implementations in this study in “Conclusions”.

We tried to make revision for applying all comments from reviewers including: Please find the more details in revision notes.

All authors including myself have seen and approved this revised manuscript.

Thank you for your consideration and I am looking forward to your response.

Comments and Suggestions for Authors

The article is complete both on a structural and content level. The authors deal with an interesting and very current topic.

However, it is recommended to:

-Insert a reference to the results, the contribution to the literature and the implications of the work in the abstract.

-Insert a literature review paragraph after the introduction to make the reader understand the studies on the topic analyzed.

-The authors asked themselves research questions or research hypotheses. If so, introduce them first to the methods. If not prepared they should be inserted and then confirmed during the discussion phase.

-Insert the source in the figures (example: Own elaboration, The authors etc.)

-Insert a discussion paragraph before the conclusions and integrate the latter. It would be a shame to reduce the good work done to so few lines of conclusion.

-Integrate the references with more up-to-date articles of a greater number than the current one.

Comments and Suggestions for Authors

I have carefully studied the article. The manuscript is well-articulated, but I have the following concerns to incorporate before considering it for publication.

·         Lack of theoretical part.

·         The article should be strengthened about the theory of nexus model, the theory of sustainable development and  nexus model as a tool for such sustainable development.

·         The bibliography should be expanded- lack of recent literature .

·         The conclusions give a good summary on the work, but the authors did not include the limitations and possible future implementations.

The article’s idea itself is interesting. It needs to be improved though (lack of theoretical part). The paper fits within the journal’s interest area.

Comments and Suggestions for Authors

The authors reported a study related to the development of smart nexus for agriculture in Korea for assessing holistic impacts of climate change. The authors presented a trendy topic. Interesting results were found in the manuscript. The resource management in sustainable approaches is crucial for better adaptation with climate change. The authors conducted several analyses and scenarios. I believe this manuscript can be helpful for both researchers and also in the government sector. I have only minor comments:

1.      Overall I recommend authors to revise the manuscript again because of some grammatical error in the text.

2.      Please use more recent references.

3.      References formatting are wrong and don’t meet this journal style.

4.      Figure 1 needs to be improved. The font size and image size are not clear for readers.

5. Please summarize more recent information about the nexus system in the area of agriculture. Several recent studies are available.

Comments and Suggestions for Authors

1. Check the formulas and the numbering sequence of the tables. Also, for the calculation of Total water supply, I think it should be “Irrigation water requirement ÷ Irrigation efficiency = Total water supply”

2. The modelling data in the article is from Suwon,is it applicable for studying Korea, which is mentioned in the title, and it is suggested to review it.

3. I'm not sure of the significance of the existence of 2.2.2, and the analysis of the results in part 3 was not applied.

4. Fewer references, fewer citations of national and international studies in the introduction.

5. It is mentioned in the abstract that the modules are linked to finalise the estimation of the sustainability index, and it is recommended that the analysis of the results be supplemented with different climate sustainability index values for the two scenarios.
