Comments and Suggestions for Authors

The paper addresses the issue of locating and measuring underground goaf. A novel Stratified-Okada Dislocation Model (S-ODM) is proposed to solve the limitation of not considering geological structures. In general, I hope the authors revise the paper according to the following aspects.

1. In section 2, the methed using in the InSAR process need be given some reference.

2. In Table 1, the dates of Interferograms Pairs are duplicated, please check the data for correctness.

3. In section 3.2, many variables of the formulas are not given an explanation, e.g.  the formula 3-5 and 17.

4. The simulation results were using both in the section 4.1 and 5.2, are they the same? I wonder the meaning of doing this.

5. How to estimatie the Poisson’s ratio of different geological structures? I didn't find any relevant references in the full-text.

6. In section 4.2.1, the ‘RMSEs’ should be ‘RMSE’.

7. In section 5.1, are the azimuth angle of PIM and Okada estimate by the proposed RM-DBC? They seem to have a large error compared with it in S-ODM.

8. Some mathematical units in the text are italicized, while others are not, please standardize the full text, e.g. the ‘39.1mm’ in section 4.2.1 and ‘2.6mm’ in section 4.2.2.

9. Please further check the spelling of formulas of full text.

10. In the 3.2 section, e.g. Okada Dislocation Model. etc., formulas and related text descriptions are given without any references.

11. In the Method section, some variables in the formula are not clearly explained, e.g. p and q in the equation (17). Please check in detail that all the variables in the formulas are explained.

12. Is the Okada dislocation model used by the authors a point-source model or a rectangular-source model? This should be carefully checked and discussed as it is related to the underground geometry. By the way, the model involves rotations between multiple coordinate systems, please describe them in figures to increase readability.

13. In the 3.3 section, the genetic algorithm-particle swarm optimization was mentioned, I wonder why the author chose this algorithm, whether it was based on computational efficiency considerations or other factors.

14. In the Figure 10, the meaning of polar axes is not explained.

15. In the 3.3 section, how the estimatied azimuth angle of PIM and ODM are obtained? They have significantly larger errors.

16. I strongly suggest that the authors double-check the full text for all these formulas, letter capitalization, spaces, literature citations, etc.

Comments and Suggestions for Authors

A novel method named Stratified-optimal Okada Dislocation Model (S-ODM) using InSAR techniques is proposed to locate illegal coal mining goaf with basic geological information, demonstrating significant improvements in accuracy over conventional models by utilizing a numerical model, azimuth angle estimation, and GA-PSO optimization. Overall, the paper has certain research value and practical significance. However, there are still some problems to be improved in this paper.

1The word "Where" under formulas in lines 129, 139, 146, etc., needs to have a consistent capitalization.

2The reference to "Figure 4" in line 158 is incorrect and should be "Figure 3." It is recommended to check all figure references throughout the paper.

3There are two instances of  in line 139.

4The variables  and  in formula (2), and  in formula (3), need to be explained.

5In lines 156-157, the phrase "i layers of geological structure from ground to the mining face" suggests the division is from top to bottom. However, formula (18) and Figure 3 actually show a division from bottom to top. Is this description correct? Similarly, in line 250, "The first layer is the soft topsoil" contradicts Figure 3. Are the calculation results accurate?

6In lines 169-175, if the deformation threshold is greater than 0, some areas with positive deformation will be binarized as "1." Is this reasonable? Additionally, please explain the scientific basis for using the mean value of the stable region as the threshold (why not use the minimum value of the stable region or use  as the threshold).

7The terms "Fig" and "Figure" should be used consistently throughout the paper.
