In the part "Regulatory requirements for the future of BTE" the authors describe the general requirements of the regulatory sides.

(1) It would be desirable if the authors would address the approval possibilities and bottlenecks of 3D sintering and BTE products in the later part of the manuscript, e.g. main technical challenges by the assessment of the safety  or effectiveness; how a reference product could be selected for comparison etc..

(2) the approach and the product from the 3D printing are mostly for personalized therapy. How can the quality of the individualized product be controlled? Are there any common technical specifications?

(3) What about the economic impact of this future concept and product? Can the costs be reduced to a level acceptable to the public? (considering the upscaling potential?)
