Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

The authors have written a concise review on emerging porous polymer materials for use in "solid state" batteries, covering a number of polymers, and strategies for implementing them as porous structures in batteries.

Please include references for your figures.

1. What is the main question addressed by the research? This review highlights and serves as an introduction to the use of polymers in solid state batteries, including the emergence of porous polymers in this field.
2. Do you consider the topic original or relevant in the field? Does it
address a specific gap in the field? Polymers as hybrid sold state electrolytes is an emerging field and this specific case of porous polymers is perhaps fillign a gap here. I am not hugely familiar with the polymer electrolyte field.
3. What does it add to the subject area compared with other published
material? As far as I can see, there has not been any reviews specifically on porous polymers for batteries, though there have been some for fuel cell membranes, and many reviews on polymer electrolytes all solid state batteries.
4. What specific improvements should the authors consider regarding the
methodology? What further controls should be considered? n/a
5. Are the conclusions consistent with the evidence and arguments
presented and do they address the main question posed? More effort could be given to the outlook for the use of porous polymers in this field, including the key areas for development and barriers to overcome
6. Are the references appropriate?yes
7. Please include any additional comments on the tables and figures. Need referencing for use of data and images in figures/tables

Reviewer 2 Report

After going through the manuscript " Recent Advances in Porous Polymers for Solid-State Rechargeable Lithium Batteries", I would give my comments below.

The manuscript is well organized; however, to improve the quality, the following recommendations can be incorporated.

- what’s the novelty of this work? I think it's a parallel work with some new review papers that have been published in recent years

so, what makes this review different from the others and from the most recent ones?

You need to improve the introduction. You need a literature review on this topic. There are so many recent papers on numerical simulation for oil recovery. such as:

-"Effect of nano phase change materials on the cooling process of a triangular lithium battery pack." Journal of Energy Storage 51 (2022): 104326.

-"Combining an active method and a passive method in cooling lithium-ion batteries and using the generated heat in heating a residential unit." Journal of Energy Storage 49 (2022): 104181.

- The article needs 2.3 comprehensive comparison tables with high details.

- A review paper should not only summarize recently published works but also should contain critical and comprehensive discussions. Therefore, check the writing for the whole manuscript. The review should not be presented by listing what have done by others.

-There are some grammatical errors, please carefully check the whole manuscript.
