Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

Lines 89-94; figure 1: Specify how ventilation areas are managed.

Figure 5: there is considerable correspondence between simulated and real data. Specify better in materials and methods how experimental data were used in the realization of the proposed model.

The geometry of the system is quite simple but the air velocity data shown suggests a turbulent regime in many areas of the cell, even if in many simulated scenarios the velocities could be considered quite low. Under these conditions, the methodology used may not give reliable results. Specify if there is this possibility.

The authors should better explain if the model can be applied to other greenhouses similar to the one studied and how experimental data were used in the realization of the proposed model.

Reviewer 2 Report

The manuscript analyzes the indoor temperature in a typical greenhouse used in the Colombian floriculture sector. A 3D CFD numerical model with important practical implications for growers is developed, since it detects microclimatic heterogeneity and heat spots.  The methodology is correct to develop the proposed objectives, and the results and conclusions are correctly supported by the methodology.

28: Replace 'the main greenhouse' -> 'the greenhouses'
34: Replace 'cover' -> 'covered'
41: Replace 'the main plant species of commercial interest' - > 'the crop'
77-79: Reformulate as 'used for the production of cut flowers in the Colombian savannah of Bogota.'
86: Delete 'of': '9 spans 6.80 m wide'
92: Use proper superscript for exponentiation here and elsewhere ('m^2')
98: Delete initial 'The'
108: 'at 11:00 and 14:00' should that be 'between 11:00 and 14:00'?
205-207: Split into two sentences.
Table 3: Remove columns 2-4 and provide the information on the main text instead.
263: Delete initial 'The'
Fig. 8: (1) Make y-axis title conform with main text: 'Renewal rate'. (2)Scenarios should be labelled as 'Wind direction' with values W,E,S and N. Increase the size of points.
351: Re-formulate scrambled sentence.
Table 5: The column heading are self-explanatory, except for the last one 'Delta T'

I don't think you spent enough time correcting the use of English. For example, your new title should read: Evaluation of the microclimate in a traditional Columbian greenhouse used for cut flower production. Please enlist the help of a native English speaker to make sure grammar and style are correct.
