High Loaded Bioflocculation Membrane Reactor of Novel Structure for Organic Matter Recovery from Sewage: Effect of Temperature on Bioflocculation and Membrane Fouling
Round 1
Reviewer 1 Report
The authors investigated the effect of temperature on flocculation and concentration of organic matter in a bioflocculation membrane reactor. The manuscript is well-prepared and the paper can be published after minor revisions.
1) The title is difficult to be understood. "The effect of temperature on flocculation and concentration of organic matter in bioflocculation membrane reactor" might be more suitable.
2) In the materials and method section, the flow rates (influent, effluent and the concentrate) must be shown for the better understanding for the concentration factor, although the readers can calculate the concentration factor by using effluent membrane flux.
3) Not only COD but SS (suspended solid) results should be given, when the authors discuss the results on figure 2.
4) In the abstract and in figure 4, it is recommended not to write "fine particles (0-1 μm)" or "0 < PD <1 μm", because 0 μm means non-particulate (dissolved matter) in general. Please write "fine particles (< 1 μm)" or " PD <1 μm".

Reviewer 2 Report
In general the manuscript is written with clearness and well presented. I have some minor suggestions to improve its quality.
Line 46: is “...[8-10] ,but...”, should be “...[8-10], but...”
Lines 55-57: "Temperature is an important parameter that affect the efficiency of the separation and recovery of organic matter from the reactor. However, the underlying mechanism is still unclear." Please, provide a ref to support this statement.
Lines 99-104: Please, add some reference for this method.
Fig. 3. The "flocculation efficiency" should be presented on a separate graph.
Alternatively, add an appropriate description to the right vertical axis in the current figure.
Line 325: There are no supporting statistical data in the article that the bioflocculation in the HLB-MR is positively correlated with the EPS concentration secreted by microorganisms and the cations uptake from the sludge matrix. The term "positively correlated" needs to be changed.
