The authors are complimented on a well presented and written paper for improving traditional techniques for identifying flood zones by supplementing it with remote sensed data and analyses.

My only comment is:

Line 169-170: The variables in Equation 2 are not defined.

Otherwise, the presented approach can improve identification of flood hazard areas in the future, especially those impacted by anthropogenic activities.
