in this paper, the  authors investigated the impact force of dambreak flow against structures by both 2D and 3D numerical models. The topic of the dam break flow is interesting and important for uban plaining. generally speaking, the paper is well organized and structured. However, the contribution and the novelty of this should be explained clearly. Below are the detailed comments.

1,  the 2d model is self-developed or the commercal software? is there any new schemes for the improvement of numerical model? what is the advantage of the present 2D model?

2, the quality of figure can be improved.

3, for CFD simulation, the grid information should be given clearly and the grid convergence should be conducted.

4, the simuation was conducted in PC or cluster, the information of the hardware should be given.

Reviewer 2 Report

The authors have revised the manuscript according to my reveiw comments and the quality of the revision has been improved. It is recommended to be published in the journal of Marine science and engineering.

This manuscript is a resubmission of an earlier submission. The following is a list of the peer review reports and author responses from that submission.
