                         GENERAL COMMENTS

 The subject of this paper is interesting and that should be of interest to Land mdpi readers. I think the authors have tried to put their findings into context and many of my comments/suggestions are for explanations or clarifications. The major point is about the present organisation of the paper. In my honest opinion, the introduction section and the literature review should be merged into a single section. Besides, an initial/preliminary section with a list of all parameters (with units) and acronyms of the paper is recommended.

[Introduction and literature review] In order to clarify and to have a better scientific sound I suggest merge both sections (the introduction section-section 1- and the literature review- section 2-) into a single section.

This paper titled "Impact of urbanization and industrial structure on carbon emissions: evidence from Huaihe River Eco-economic Zone" is focused on analyzing the combined effect of urbanization and industrialization on carbon emissions using threshold regression model and geographically weighted regression. Overall, the paper is written very well. The problem statement and the objectives of the paper are very clearly mentioned. However, there is a need to provide more information for the selection of this particular study site (Huaihe River Eco-economic zone) as well as how data from this study site will be translated/applied to other geographical regions. Another caveat is related to the data obtained from statistical yearbooks. Provide reference as well as details of the data used for modelling in this study. Also, provide details of IPCC and input-output methods. Although this study used a long-term data set (2010- 2018), it is not clear why these particular years are used.
