Reviewer 3 Report

The authors present an interesting and important study on the controlling fluvial erosion processes on clayey bedrock and role of waste water. The study includes details investigation of the six sites central Italy, which delt with many aspects of study area. However, there are still minor issues that should be resolved before the manuscript can be accepted.

1.      Introduction section should improve with various case studies and good references.

2.      The mineralogical analysis can be improved with the previous research’s

3.      Geotechnical Analyses of soil samples collected from the study areas should be incorporated in the tabular form.

4.      Improve the quality of Figure 7

  1. Improve the conclusions with all the findings from the manuscript.
  2. In the conclusions, authors should explain the importance of the study, its future scope, and its contribution to the national and international research community.
