Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

This paper has some worthwhile information and possible suggestions for policy makers. In the present climate change scenario, it is pivotal to concern the environment with proper frameworks and action plans to achieve sustainability and controlled resource management. Nevertheless, a country like China with its huge population density and abundant workforce needs some alterations in managing agricultural lands to reduce carbon emissions. Indeed, this research suggests some valid action plans through the appropriate estimations for enabling low-carbon ALU development in China.

However, I suggest authors to adopt some of the minor corrections as below.

L15: divisia.. Also in L107. Why D is capital. Follow similarity.

L18: remove extra bracket

L22: main sources of carbon emission. Right ??

L22:  agricultural film.. ;like what?? Mulches? Or sheets?? Plastic protection??. Provide little information in brackets to make the readers understand. In think in your case it is plastic sheeting. Check!!

L29: Finally, based on these above results, some suggestions were proposed to promote the sustainable use of China’s agricultural land. Replace this sentence with-

Collectively, based on the findings obtained from the present research, we have proposed some suggestions to the policymakers to promote the sustainable use of agricultural lands in China.

L152: In this formula. Replace this word with “Where,”. Ex: Where, e represents….. Follow everywhere..  L156, 166, 190, 203…….

L325: Diesel represents the second largest source of CE, After???

L520: Finally. Make it Overall.

Reviewer 2 Report

The authors explore the spatiotemporal evolution characteristics and policy implication for the carbon emission of China’s agricultural land use during 1995-2020 based on multi-source spatial data and different models. I commend the authors for their hard work. However, the paper suffers from several major limitations that make it not interesting and charming for international readers and academics.
The paper fails to state the research gaps in existing literature and clearly point out its novelty and contributions. The authors mention "
an integrated method remains to be explored". This statement is too general. As the authors review in the manuscript, there is a huge body of literature on relevant studies on ALU-generated carbon emission, especially in the Chinese context. I have reviewed a lot of papers with similar topic in recent two years. It is hard to find theoretical or methodological contributions for these papers, as well as this work.
Finally, it is hard to find out that what are the new findings that this paper contribute to existing literature. The results of different models are substantial, but what's new?
The novelty of the article is not very prominent, and the significance of solving specific problems needs to be further strengthened.

English expression continues to improve.
