A simple and clear article. While I am not qualified to comment on the model and calculations I am assuming others will do so. I have some points and questions however. The first part of your introduction is written in pristine English and a different style. If it is a quote - please point this out. Please define "age of land cover" more clearly. I suspect you are focussing on stable, mature perennial crop cover (rubber, oil palm)? What of intermediate cover stages during early growth? I wonder how familiar you are with agriculture: I do not expect to see a botanical name without italics and with a capital for the species name!! What of annual crops? Carbon emission calculations: what do you mean? And be careful with urban areas as regreening of such zones is currently a hot topic: perhaps your methodology can help: or not? You could add a note on this. Why do you assume the accuracy and reliability of data from the local government to be "high quality"? Please justify this comment. And I don't think I see the term "ground truthing" (perhaps I have overlooked it?). If you have not been to the field to check then please state this and explain why not.

Fair. Needs moderate editing.
