Comments and Suggestions for Authors

The study is very valid and well set up also from a methodological point of view.

It is interesting to deeper into the UNESCO recognition of the Great Wall (World heritage list), in reference to the importance of the auxiliary beacon sites. An in-depth study in this regard would be very important also in the perspective of possible further useful planning and protection tools for the monument.

In the conclusions it appears interesting to give an account of the possibility of specific tools for valorising the identified auxiliary beacon sites, possibly with modern information technologies.
