Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

The paper is valuable work based on an interesting research. However there are serious errors in the use of English (even technical), especially in the first part of the paper. This makes very difficult even to understand the text. I recommend to make the necessary corrections.

The conclusions part is too general. It should focus more on the results of the research.

Reviewer 2 Report

The manuscript deals with an important topic of uncertainty analysis of detection fissures in buildings and shows a reduction of dimensions of the model by using particle swarm optimization. The idea is interesting and worthwhile investigating. The main contribution of this work to this problem is not clearly explained. Furthermore, there are drawbacks in some sections of the manuscript that require a major revision.

Major comment

Improving the model in internal defects detection of buildings is essential for building fissure detection; so, this study needs to show why the existing studies are not able to detect the building fissure which was investigated and validated in the literature.

Furthermore, the main contribution of this work to this problem is not clearly explained, and for presenting the paper goals, the authors should answer the questions: 1) how is the current research important/relevant? 2) how is it novel and contributes to the state of the art?

Minor comment

  1. The abstract is not informative and as much as possible avoid numbering. Furthermore, the authors need to explain the problem statement in the abstract.
  2. The authors need to explain in detail in Eq. 5.
  3. The font sizes in figure 2 do not match the font size of the manuscript body.
  4. The references in the paper should not be older.
  5. The writing of this paper should be improved, and there are many English mistakes.
  6. The conclusion needs to be well presented for the overall understanding of the research.
