Author Response

Thank you for the reviewers’ comments concerning our manuscript entitled “Numerical Investigation on Generation and Propagation Characteristics of Offshore Tsunami Wave under Landslide” (ID: applsci-874558). Those comments are all valuable and very helpful for revising and improving our paper, as well as the important guiding significance to our researches. We have studied comments carefully and have made corrections which we hope meet with approval. Revised portions are marked in red in the paper. The main corrections in the paper and the responses to the reviewer’s comments are as flowing: Comment 1: Editing of language suggested. Author response: Thank you very much for your appreciation. Author action: We have tried our best to revise the English of the whole MS carefully. In order to make the whole MS better understanding, we have revised some long sentences into short sentences and edited the whole MS. Meanwhile, we also have asked some colleagues who are skilled authors of English language papers to help us with checking the English (see the revised MS). We hope that the language is now acceptable for the next review process. Special thanks to you for your good comments. ________________________________________ Once again, thank you very much for your comments and suggestions. We look forward to your information about my revised papers and thank you for your good comments.

Reviewer 2 Report

The total story of the paper is interesting to offshore engineers and very useful to design the offshore structures. So the material is suitable to a manuscript of the Applied Science, but the validation with the experimental wave heights is only one case. Also figures expressing numerical results are not completed. Therefore the revision works are necessary.

  • The characters are too small in Figure 1.
  • Where did the landslide occur in Figure 1(b)?
  • Line 72; Submarine  >>>  submarine
  • Line 128; volume-of-fluid >>> volume-of-fluid(VOF)
  • (2) ; What is the unit of volume fraction F ?
  • Line 167; You use “m” twice.
  • Line 202; How is the friction coefficient 0.26 determined?
  • Figure 3; How is the velocity cloud diagram obtained?
  • Figure 4; Only one validation case is expressed in Figure 4. The experimental case is only one? If that case is more than two, another comparison should be described in Figure 4 to check the accuracy of numerical model.
  • Figure 7; The expenditure “h=-0.05m” is indicated as “h=0.25m” in the explanation sentence.
