Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

Thank you for submitting your article. It was very interesting to read. However, I would advise adding significant corrections to the document and proceed with a second review.

Introduction.

  • Provide more details about the current situation of covid-19 in the region. Including what action the government has taken. It would allow the reader to understand the scenario in which the analysis took place.
  • I also advise comparing the local situation more globally with other countries in which similar studies have been done.
  • Please write clearly your hypothesis.
  • I would advise you to rewrite this section, including my suggestion and incorporate a broad literature upon similar studies, which will then inform your discussion.

Methods.

  • I would include gender differences in this publication as well. Although I appreciate that you mention that these will be published elsewhere, it feels like the work has not been completed. A GenderXAge analysis would have added more to your discussion and would have the help you drive a more robust conclusion.

Results

  • Fig 1, Fig 2, Fig3. Please avoid 3D graphs. These are difficult to read. Refer to Discovering Statistics Using IBM SPSS Statistics by Andy Field on how to present graphical data.
  • Table 2. Why is it in red?
  • Tables. Consider use fewer decimals (0.00 instead of 0.000, as you did in table 5 and 6) and make the table larger rather than longer. It would save you space and make the document easier to navigate (e.g., table 4 is 5 pages long). Consider also changing the orientation of the pages to fit more table on one page.
  • Data should be summarised more clearly graph and table should help the reader navigate the section which currently reads too long and difficult to follow.

Discussion and conclusiom

  • Line 476, "The study made by [30]...." please justify the use of the citation. It should be removed instead add your institution.
  • While the results should report the data without interpretation, the discussion should show your data in the current scientific scenario with your hypothesis and point of view. Are there similarities or differences with other studies? Did your results meet your hypothesis (please add the hypothesis as well in the discussion session). What action should now the researchers and educations consider in your region and abroad?
  • Add a limitation session in which you describe the study limitation and what would advise other research to prevent them.

I am looking forward to reading your next submissiont.

  • The 3D graphic presentation has been abandoned, they have been enlarged to make the resulting percentage values easier to view.
  • The color of table 2 has changed / it is no longer in red.
  • The number of decimals in the tables where this aspect generated an excessive loading of them has been reduced, table 4 now has less than 2 pages.
  • Reference no. 30 remained in the text, it is the only study found so far and which analyzes the online activity for students of Physical Education and Sports in Romania, but at another university.

  1. A paragraph has been added in the Discussions chapter, which summarizes the interpretation of the results obtained and validates the working hypotheses for a number of items in the questionnaire.
  2. A section has been inserted in the text regarding the limits of the study undertaken and proposals / directions to guide future studies.
  3. A reference / no.51 was added, at the suggestion of another reviewer.

All changes made to the text are written in blue so that they can be easily identified. Following discussions with the other authors of the study, it emerged that the volume of data resulting from statistical processing and analysis (multivariate and univariate) for the independent variables sex, environment and age stages is very large. This aspect does not allow the presentation of all results only in the current paper and please accept their publication in another scientific material, which will also be oriented to the current journal (if the current paper will be accepted for publication), for ensure the coherence and continuity of research. The following material is already in the advanced stage of work, the results are interesting, highlighting differences between gender and background variables for a number of items in the questionnaire. We have not added other studies in the text and bibliography related to the situation at European and global level, they are saved in Zotero and will be the subject of analysis for the second article, wanting to make an approach of as many sources as possible and avoid duplication. the same information We will look for news published in recent weeks and related to our study.

Thanks for the provided ideas.

I reccomend to expand the introduction by reffering to those particle article:

The Impact of COVID-19 and Homeschooling on Students' Engagement With Physical Activity, https://doi.org/10.3389/fspor.2020.589227 which is one of the lates publication (2021). The refference, however, I leave to Authors decission.

Reviewer 3 Report

The theme of the study is current and I believe that the institutions involved in the educational process, as well as teachers or parents of students, need such studies and reports in order to improve and adapt methods in the online environment.

The study entitled "The perception of the online teaching process during the Covid-19 pandemic for the students of the Faculty of Physical Education and Sports ”complies with the general requirements of academic writing imposed by the Journal of Applied Sciences - MDPI. The object of study, the purpose, the organization and conduct of research are in line with the directions current scientific investigation in the field of education, as a variant identifying and solving problems in the education system superior, in the context of its adaptation to the Covid pandemic 19. I recommend the authors to include in the cited bibliographic sources a 2-3 recent studies, with direct reference to the issue of online teaching for the students of the profile faculties (Physical Education Field and Sports).

Round 2

Reviewer 1 Report

Dear authors, thank you for adapting the manuscript to our recommendation.

Please find below the following comments.

Results - please ensure that you use the same number of decimals, whether in the table or the text. You are advised to X.XX rather than X.XXX.

Figure 1, Figure 2 and Figure 3 - are difficult to read, and numbers are misplaced. Please review the figures properly, following the journal specification.

Line 558 - please do not start a sentence with a citation. Add author name and then (at the end of the sentence) add the citation. Similarly, on line 565, "...by [38]" is not correct. Use the author name and then add the citation. (similar errors are in other document lines, e.g., in 581, please ensure you read it through and correct these).

Line 618 - 626. The conclusion of the discussion is interesting, and additional emphasis should be given to the role of physical activity. Please add additional details on what future research should investigate in this area and explore the benefit of exercises in more detail.

Looking forward to reading your next submission.

Author Response

Dear Reviewer,

Following the latest recommendations provided by you in the analysis of the study called The perception of the online teaching process during the Covid-19 pandemic for students of the Physical Education and Sports Domain, we inform you that all the indicated changes have been made in the paper, as it follows:

Results - please ensure that you use the same number of decimals, whether in the table or the text. You are advised to X.XX rather than X.XXX.

Answer: 1. It is operated an elimination of decimals (only two left) in both tables and text.

Figure 1, Figure 2 and Figure 3 - are difficult to read, and numbers are misplaced. Please review the figures properly, following the journal specification.

Answer: 1. It is operated an align of the percentage values on graphs 1, 2, 3, so that they (hopefully) are now visible. It was passed the values for the whole lot above, because the red areas did not allow easy reading of the numbers on the chart.

Answer: 1. It is operated an addition of authors to the text for lines 558, 565, 581.

Line 618 - 626. The conclusion of the discussion is interesting, and additional emphasis should be given to the role of physical activity. Please add additional details on what future research should investigate in this area and explore the benefit of exercises in more detail.

Answer: 1. It is operated an extension of the discussions with mentions related to the role of physical activities and identifying possible research directions in the field of physical education and sports, in lines 626-643 (the paragraph is written in green).

Thanks for the provided corrections.

Best regards!
