Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

In this study, a mobile application is developed for user centric bridge visual defect quality control. It has the potential of improving the collaboration during bridge inspection. The manuscript is very well written and is recommended for publication on the Applied Sciences journal. Please see below for some minor comments.

  1. Please check whether the citation should be put at the beginning or the end of the sentence.
  2. Resolution of figures should be increased for clarity.
  3. Please consider citing the following papers for a comprehensive literature survey.

The paper described the development of a user-centric bridge visual defect quality control assisted mobile application. The topic is interesting. The paper is well organized and written. However, there are some shortcomings to be improved before it can be recommended for publication.

  1. The proposed system is introduced in detail. However, the application of the system is not described systematically.
  2. Although the new system seems convenient, it is very unlikely that the system would replace traditional methods soon. Hence, it is suggested to comments a bit on how the new systems and traditional methods can be connected.
