Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

The work seems to be basically solid and well done, the paper is suitable for publication in its current state .

As a general comment:  there are a few typo, as an example:

Abstract:

line 4 – “maters” probably should be “matters”

Reviewer 2 Report

The paper is interesting and reveals that a significative numerical work was undertaken. However, before it can be considered for publication, authors should consider the following issues:

  1. Although the theme is well developed in less recent works, authors should try to base the introduction on an updated bibliography.
  2. Authors should check the formatting of the entire document, namely the numbering of sections is not correct
  3. Please define RAM in its first use.
  4. Please define RBD in the text and the abstract.
  5. Please uniformize WWTP and WWTF.
  6. I suggest that the authors elaborate on the required adaptations in the model to include tertiary treatments by WWTPs.
  7. There is some confusion between sections “Case Study Application” and “Results”. The first one present the results and the second one seems to be a discussion of the results.
  8. I recommend adding the main numerical results and/or the identification of the critical process operations in the conclusion section and the abstract.
  9. It is not clear how the real data of the WWTP was used. In addition, the manuscript does not include any comparison between the results obtained and real records of system availability or EOI.
