Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

*)  Figure 2 appears very interesting so a more descriptive caption is required.

*) Why were 3D Finite Difference Time Domain (FDTD) used? Please give a clear physical-mathematical rationale. Because other numerical techniques also solve Maxwell's equations. From which a stronger motivation is needed.

*) (8) is it an original formulation? If so, how was it obtained? If not, please associate a relevant bibliographic reference.

*) Figures 5 and 6 are very interesting and deserve special attention especially in cases where they could be affected by uncertainties and / or inaccuracies. In these cases, there is a need for fuzzy preprocessing of the images obtained. Obviously, such treatments are beyond the valuable work done by the authors (but which I believe can be taken into account for any future developments of the research in progress). So, I advise authors to insert a sentence in the text that highlights this eventuality by putting the following relevant papers in the bibliography:

doi: 10.1016/j.asoc.2020.106452

doi: 10.1109/ACCESS.2017.2776349

*) Please explain (9) better from a mathematical point of view.

Reviewer 2 Report

Dear Authors

After reviewing the manuscript, it is rational to state that the language of the paper is good and structural organization of the content is OK. Conclusions are supportive.

In general, the paper has enough material to be published; however, there are some minor comments that must be addressed by the authors in the revised version:

  • A table of nomenclature is recommended;
  • The novelty and contributions of this study to the state of the art must be stressed and highlighted along the introduction;

Very Best
