Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

Dear Authors,
the manuscript you submitted is interesting and well structured, but cannot be accepted for publication in the present form.

In particular an extensive revision of the English language is necessary.
Moreover, some detailed comments are reported hereafter:
- Title: Check English language and add the type of compressor considered in your study.
- Define the meaning of the term "frequency-locked".
- Please, describe the instrumentation you used for the experimental campaign: model and type of the acquisition system, microphones, accelerometers. Give details about the settings of the instruments.
- Check figures 2 (where point 1 is placed?), 3, 4, 5 (units label).
- Can you add a plot of the time series measured by one of the microphones?
- Page 15, first line: you cite the "model based on park". Did you mean Parker?
- Figure 20: you claim that you found an SPL of 145 dB at 530 Hz, but in the figure you hardly reach 140 dB. Please correct.
- Page 18, first line: please define "fv"
- Page 18, after Figure 21: you cite the Strouhal number without introducing it and with no explanation of the terms. In my opinion you can move this quantity and give an explanation of its meaning in the theoretical part.
- Why you have some references marked in red colour?

Reviewer 2 Report

The author should clearly state how this study helped recognizes the high-intensity sound of the compressor? Also clearly mention the novelty of this study.

Minimal information existed for experimental setups and their characteristics. Please provide more elaborate on compressor setup characteristics as well as the measuring devices

The methodology and the assumed analogy are not clearly described. It is necessary to add a flow diagram to describe the methodology and the analogies step by step.

Many equations and derived relations need references.

How measuring point locations are selected for rotor blades vibration

Please more elaborate on the Figure 8 description.

How propagation domains are selected for Fig. 11?

There are many formatting errors. Especially for variables in the text where some of them are above the line and inserted using MathType (e.g. Page 4: Pij) and some of them are typed without considering subscription (e.g: Page 18: fv)

Correct the multiple referencing format.e.g: [32,33] not [32][33]

A comprehensive nomenclature is necessary. Furthermore, some of the definition/formulations for some parameters i.e. SPL should add.

There are many typo mistakes in the manuscript and the whole text should be revised (e.g.: Page 9. Line 2: which are shown, Fig. 9: pipe, ….)

Reference section formatting (Page 19 ) should be corrected (from ref. [9]).

Some texts are Bold (e.g. Fig. 15 captions) and some words' first letters are capitalized (Section 5. Title) Please provide consistent text.

Round 2

Reviewer 1 Report

The authors addressed all the required changes.
I only suggest proofreading the English language.
Best regards

Author Response

Response 1: Thanks for you suggestion. The English language has been checked and proofreading in detail.

Reviewer 2 Report

The manuscript is improved in the current version.

Thank the author for adding Figure 13, However, it needs improvement as it does not show the process. e.g. one box is Time step, which means "calculating/setting time step" and it is not consistent with the box named Transient solving which is a more general title.
