Suppression Effect of Waterborne Polymer on Soil Used for Backfilling at Construction Site
Round 1
Reviewer 1 Report
Dust generation at construction sites is a serious problem about workers' health due to air quality. Water spraying is a common measure of dust suppression, but it is not very efficient due to easy moisture evaporation. Therefore, dust suppressants can be added to spraying water to improve efficiency. Therefore, a waterborne polymer dust suppressant was investigated in this paper to stabilize backfill soil and restrain dust from construction sites. As a result, the study is important and contributes the scientific knowledge. However, I want to offer some minor revisions:
Line 31: Define PM10...
Line 116: fi is unnecesssary.

Correct the abstract.
The abstract describes the goal of the research, which methods were used, and generally evaluates the fulfillment of the given research goal. Omit comparisons of specific results.

The following suggestions could improve the quality of the paper:
The title is confused, it should be clarified and kept close to the content of the paper. The title should be rewritten (see lines 75-76).
The abstract should be reorganized, la main objective of the paper should be clarified from the beginning, and also the methodology and the main conclusions should be highlighted at the end.
The variables PM10 and PM25 should be properly defined.
The term 'backfill soil' could be misunderstanding in this topic of research. A more accuracy expression could be used.
Caption of figure 2a should be reviewed to keep coherence this x-axis of the figure.
Both laboratory test and large-scale should be emphasized in the abstract
