Round 1

Reviewer 1 Report

In this manuscript, the static and dynamic properties of MXene-based humidity sensors were investigated through theoretical and simulation analysis. However, some issues mentioned below are needed to be addressed in the revised version.

1.     In the introduction part, discuss the properties of MXenes which make them efficient for humidity sensing. The relevant references should be cited in the manuscript.

2.     The authors have discussed the variation of di-electric constant with sensing film’s thickness. How the properties of sensor vary with interlayer thickness of MXene sheets? Any comments.

3.     It is suggested to provide the study of capacitance change with respect to relative humidity (RH) values. It will be able to make readers understand the performance of sensor more easily.

Reviewer 2 Report

In this study, the effect of film thickness on static and dynamic properties of MXene-based IDE capacitive humidity sensors is investigated theoretically and through simulation. In addition, a theoretical model is presented.

There is no explanation in Figure 4 about the current fraction and capacitance mentioned in the sentence below. If this is an inference, the parameters on the figure should be explained first.

''First, it is found that as the thickness of the sensitive layer increases, the ascending trends of the current fraction and capacitance become slow.''

The result and discussion part should be rewritten more clearly and clearly. This part is difficult to understand.

The conclusion section should be written in a short and concise way by numbering.
